All About Me!
Thank you for choosing Traylor Academy for your kindergartener! I too chose to join the Traylor Team in 2014. It is a pleasure to work with highly dedicated and caring colleagues. The parents have put their trust in me and collaboratively we have reached new heights in Kindergarten.
This is my third year at Traylor Academy and my 27th total with Denver Public Schools. I have taught kindergarten for 17 years straight. When I was a young girl I would play school with my three younger brothers. I knew all through my school years that I wanted to be a teacher. After high school I went to Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado where I received my bachelor’s degree in teaching. I moved to Denver and taught for 12 years then attended CU Boulder where I received my master’s degree.
My husband and I have two children and a bad beagle. We keep busy with gardening, golfing, camping, hiking, and gathering with extended family. We are from southern Colorado and enjoy visiting frequently. The beautiful Spanish Peaks never fail to awe us.
I am passionate about caring for others. It is important to me that I teach students how to be considerate towards each other and supportive of their peers. The kindergarten journey in my classroom grows respectful, compassionate, and thoughtful learners.
I am privileged to work with each student and family that enters my classroom. I thank you for trusting me with your precious child and together we will excel.
